Northern Spy Food Co.

2.24.2013

Confession: I have never had brunch in New York before. Seriously! Well, that changed today as I hit up Northern Spy Food Co. It was a lazy sort of Sunday morning for me, which is always the best. The place was relatively busy, but it was more of a "lively" type of atmosphere. While musing over the menu, I enjoyed an apple mimosa which was pretty so-so. We decided to share two dishes, and ended up getting the french toast and pulled chicken sandwich for a little bit of salty and sweet. Overall the food was fresh, and quite delicious! Service was really slow though, so I would recommend this place if you've got some time to kill and don't mind sitting around for a bit. All in all, I'd have to say that Norther Spy Food Co. isn't reinventing brunch, but it's definitely still pretty tasty!

  1. Your sweater! So adorable, haha. I've only eaten at a Manhattan restaurant once, and I always lived in New York City so it's not a terrible thing on your part :P Looks very tasty though, I'm craving for some french toast now!

  8. Ohh, your brunch looked so good! I don't really do brunches either, I mean are you meant to eat breakfast beforehand? Because if I don't, I'm starving by the time I get to my brunch destination.

  11. This place looks pretty good. I am always looking for new places to go. I met a friend for a movie, dinner and drinks Saturday night and we literally walked around for an hour looking for a place to eat. She had an issue with the menu with every place we stopped. I swear I almost popped her one, was 5 minutes away from calling it a night. We ended up ducking in to a large Mexican place that was so-so. I generally like to plan things out in advance exactly because of the a fore mentioned reason. I will be stopping back to check out your recommendations.

I am headed to Soho tonight for a pop up event at 542 Broadway if you are interested in going.
